FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.) What is Bare Beauty? What makes it different from other makeup lines?

Bare Beauty is made of 100% pure minerals, meaning it has no chemicals or preservatives. Because of this, it is actually good for your skin, compared to traditional makeup which can be harsh and can cause irritation and dryness. Bare Beauty also feels weightless and provides a beautiful finish without looking "made-up." Furthermore, you will see that your skin will start to improve after using Bare Beauty minerals. 2.) How do I know what foundation color to start with?

It can be difficult buying foundation over the internet. Bare Beauty foundation is very forgiving. There are several colors to choose from, but many women can wear 2 or more colors. It is a matter of personal preference which color you choose. If you mix foundation colors, then your options are endless! And to top it off, if you get the wrong shade, we can change it free of charge within days of purchase (only applies to samples).

Fair 1.0 - This is for very light skin tones (porcelain.)

Fairly Light 1.2 - This is for light skin tones. Also works well
as a concealer for light to medium skin tones.

Light 2.0 - This is a very versatile foundation color. It works well for most light to medium skin tones with a golden undertone. It also works very well for those with some pink in the cheeks (or anywhere) that you want to counteract.

Medium Beige 2.3 - This also works very well for most light to medium skin tones. This foundation does not have an obvious yellow or pink undertone.

Medium 3.0 - This is another great pick for those with light to medium skin tones. It works especially well for those with a pink undertone.

Tan 4.53 - This works well for most medium skin tones including Asian and Light African American skin tones. This foundation is also a favorite add in for those light skin tones during summer months. Many BE users mix this with their regular founcation to deepen the shade just a touch.

Medium Tan 5.2 - This works well for most medium to dark skin tones. It is also another favorite add in to lighter foundation colors.

Most Filipinas fall under Fairly Light to Medium shades.

3.) What is Mineral Powder?

For the ultimate, translucent "finishing touch" to your makeup, Mineral Powder melts into your skin, infusing it with softness and light, giving the look you see with a soft focus camera lens. It's one of Bare Beauty's magic products, completely sheer and ideal for all skin tones, Mineral Powder gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of lines and pores without the buildup of pressed or loose powders that contain parabens, waxes, dyes and binders.

4. Can you tell me more about the face colors?

Bare Beauty makes several face colors. These wonderful minerals can be applied anywhere you want to add a little color or "radiance."

The effect: A luminous glow, taking away stress and years from your face! Start with the cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose. Then try dipping your favorite lip gloss in one and make a gorgeous lip gloss!

4.) How do I apply the Bare Beauty Liner Shadows? (Also applies to eyeshadows! Very concentrated and can be used either wet/dry)

Bare Beauty's liner shadows are really fun! There are a couple of different ways you can wear them. The most common way it to wear it wet. Use the Bare Beauty Liner Brush (it has a really thin tip like a fine paintbrush). Put the brush under running water (or in a cup of water) and put a drop or two in the lid of your liner shadow. Mix the minerals with the water (or for a waterproof liner, try the brand new "weather everything" instead of water). You do not want this to be too watery. I make mine a thin paste consistancy. Then apply your liner as you would any eyeliner.

You can also wear the liner shadows dry. Use the Bare Beauty liner brush (or the heavenly soft eyeliner blending brush, or even the tapered eyeshadow brush). Swirl, tap, then apply to the eyes (as you would any eyeliner.)

The liner shadows can also be used as an eyeshadow. Remember, the minerals are highly pigmented (especially the liner shadows), a little goes a long way!

5.) I am new to Mineral Makeup. What should I start with?

For first timers or newbies, I suggest trying out our samples and sample kit so that you can see how the minerals work on your skin, and at the same time, know what shade would work best for your skin tone. The ALOE sampler is our best kit for starters because you get to try all the products (good for 3-4 weeks daily use) under the Bare Beauty line without having to spend so much! From there, you can choose what products and shades you like best, then buy full pots of those. For eyeshadows and blushes, we suggest getting samples all the way since its quite hard to finish a whole pot of one color. (Don't worry though, because Bare Beauty minerals have NO expiration date so you can keep them forever!) But for the basics such as foundation and mineral veil, you might want to get full pots once you know the colors that would best complement your skin.
Remember, these are highly concentrated minerals. You can use them anywhere: on the cheeks, eyes, lips, shoulders, etc. Have fun! Dip your favorite lip gloss in your favorite cheek color for a coordinated, beautiful look.
